which size flexwatt??

bergmantis Oct 25, 2007 01:39 PM

I am going to heat my vision 422 with flexwatt but have heard the 11" is bad and can melt the cage. Is this only if there is no thermostat? I will be hooking it up to a herpstat ND. Anyways, my question is should I use the 11" or should I use two stripes of 4" side by side?

Thanks,

Mat

I use 11" on a stack of five 4' boaphiles, hooked up to the big apple Herp Power Proportional Thermostat. Been using that for over 5 years this way without any problems. I attached it to the cages with foil tape. There is air space between the cages and the wall as well.
I never heard that people were having problems with the 11" flexwatt.

I did notice the door on the boaphile cracked around the hinge on the cage that I slid the probe into. Not bad, just something I noticed happened over time. I keep the probe in the second cage up from the bottom.

I use 11" on boaphiles and Neodeshas.. no visions here.
I'll shut up now and go take a nap, it's been a loooong day!

Hi Matt,

Yeah, I remember Fred, he's a great guy. Haven't talked to him in a while.

I think I've been using this forum for about 9 years now.. I remember one of my first posts was a pic of my big normal colombian asking 'what is she?'
Wow that was a long time ago.
Take care,
April
