Herping in the Gorge

HofR Oct 25, 2007 07:41 PM

After work, the crew at House of Reptiles drove out to the Columbia Gorge. We saw tons of salamanders and had a great time. Our score for the night included Dunn's Salamanders, Cascade Torrent Salamanders, Giant Pacific Salamanders, an Ensatina and a Red-legged Frog. Enjoy the pics.

Nice finds. I grew up in Washington state(everett and wenatchee),so those pics bring back some nice memories of herping as a kid. You're only missing a photo of a western rattlesnake. I discovered a communal hibernation den when I was a teenager and used to visit it every spring.

Where is the "House of Reptiles"? I used to live in the Gorge and these pics sure brought back memories. Thanks for sharing.
