Introducing the EMBER Leopard Gecko

CrestedGecko.com Oct 26, 2007 10:56 AM

Hey everyone,

I'd like to formally introduce a new leopard gecko morph I've been working on for several years- The Ember Leopard Gecko. It's a Tremper Patternless Albino with solid red Raptor eyes. I bred my original raptor male to some patternless albino females. I took those offspring and bred them to each other, producing a very small number of these awesome geckos. Not only are the solid red eyes cool to see in this morph, but the raptor body colors seem to improve the overall coloration of the patternless albino. Embers have much brighter, more intense bodies than typical TPAs.

Anyway, I just thought I'd like to share this new morph with you. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Garrick DeMeyer

Here's a photo of the ember. This photo doesn't show how bright the yellow really is, but at least you can get the general idea.

That is a spectacular gecko. I really like the pure white tail. Congrats on the new morph. I am rather jealous.

I had a really difficult time coming up with a name for this morph. I've never actually had to name a leopard gecko morph before and I never know how difficult it can be. I wanted a name that sounded intense and gave the impression of bright, burning colors. Embers, or burning coals from a fire are usually bright yellow and red. This morph of leopard gecko is bright yellow with red eyes. Also, the raptor blazing blizzard is called the "diablo blanco" or white devil. Most people associate devils with fire. Since the ember is a relative of the diablo (both are forms of raptor), I thought that name would fit. Now that I type all this out, I think I may have put too much thought into it. I hope everyone likes it, or at least doesn't dislike it!

I think it's a good name. You discovered it, you get to name it. A rose by any other name... Heck, if you wanted to call it the red-eyed banana gecko it'd still be one sweet morph. I'm pretty jealous, I really like that gecko. Good work.
