Well, I'll bust right on in and say, I'm fairly new to the boa game. My first gal is 4 now and my collection is growing... but out of all my boas, this one is odd to me. He isn't being kept for the color I see or bred for it later, but I wanted to share it anyway and hear similar stories or thoughts on him
Just a normal guy, but everytime I take him out, he makes me curious.
Story begins: I adopted this older 8-9 ft boa, the guy said the breeder told him she was Brazillian. She didn't look like anything, but a normal Columbian and everything about the situation screamed, "I don't know what I'm doing!" So I took her home. I bred her the next year to my Anery male and she produced a huge litter of premies, I was crushed! It was my first litter. I saved two, one of them died later in life and had always had problems. The survivor, Guy, is two now and seriously strange looking. He, depending on humidity and stress, changes colors a bit. You can see in the pics, the patches of dark on his head... when the humidity is up or he's upset, he gets those everywhere. When he is content, he yellows up drastically. I have a lot of 'buckskin' boas... but they are fully grown and this guy is still growing. Other than his base color, his pattern and tail colors are really washed out... nothing spectacular there, but I've just never seen this all over yellowish hue... I tried to capture it a bit, but my photo skills aren't the best and I got him out in the sun for a more 'real' shot so the yellowing from indoor lights wouldn't be an issue. My hands were a bit pink, I'll admit, but I used them as reference... you can also see the grass through the tub.
Just hoping for some feedback on this odd little het of mine...
Him in the sun, with my hands... a little cold out today, so I had to move quickly to get the shots so he wouldn't get chilled.

Without my hand... ;p

One indoors in his tub, on newspaper...

What do you think? Doesn't look as yellow in my pictures as in real life, but I hoped to give you guys an idea of what he looked like. I'll include a pic of my yellow buckskin 4 yr old (first boa, she's my baby!) female... possibly gravid. She looks yellow because she is indoors and not in natural light, but just to show that I have compared his color to her normal tones and still think he is abnormally yellow at his stage in his maturity...

Thanks for looking!
