Out of her hide but now another worry?

Alanna Oct 27, 2007 01:18 PM

Well after a couple of days my Leo did finally come out of her hide (I had a previous post with subject ''she wont come out of her hide'') and went to the toilet but her while her poo and urine look fine there seems to be a small pool of clear liquid around it. Is this normal as i have ever only seen her toilet duty after it has dried and im not sure if the pool was there in the past and just dried up. (In a nut shell she wouldnt come out of her hide as i cleaned it and threw out all the wooden ornaments as i had some mites in the tank)

Leopard geckos excrete with what I can only describe as lubrication. It encases the poo and I think is the reason they are able to complete their business so fast. Usually is dries quickly, but can leave some wrinkling of the paper towel, or in your case, you saw in on the tile.

As long as the poo and urate is well formed, then I suspect that is what you are seeing. Obviously, keep an eye out, but it sounds like that is what it is and completely normal.

No worries
