Md herp laws pine snake proposal

snakelaw Oct 27, 2007 10:41 PM

The Maryland Department of the Environment regulations as to the n. pine snake in Maryland have been withdrawn. This means that the snake is not now considered a native species in Maryland. Thus the restrictions on posession of n. pinesnskes in Md., at this juncture, are no longer restricted. Of course these type of regulations tend to be proposed in the future so vigilance is required on your part. If you need further details e-mail me. Myself and others were on the front lines.

I am sorry my message should have ciited the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and not the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE). These n. pine snake regs were DNR proposals and not MDE proposals.
