Frozen pinkies to live pinkies???

dlek00 Aug 23, 2003 10:22 AM

Hello everyone, I have an albino baby corn and it has been on a diet of frozen pinkies, however last week I couldn't find one, so I fed him a live pinkie. Here are my questions being new to snakes. Is it okay to feed him live ones? because he doesn't kill it before he eats it, he just starts swallowing it while it's still alive, so that kinda worries me. Will he ever develop that killer instinct? Should I avoid live ones from now on since he doesn't kill it beforehand? Any other comments are welcome too, thanks in advance!

A live pink or fuzzy won't hurt your snake, but no need to get him used to live food. If he's already eating frozen, don't push your luck. If you have to, prekill and/or freeze a live pink, then feed. Duffy
