I have a female that I was pretty sure was gravid. unfortunately I missed ovulation so I can't be sure. well, she had what I thought was her prelay shed two weeks ago. she just clouded over, and is starting to shed again!!!!! WTF??? two weeks? what does this mean?

It could have been a normal shed the first time and the pre lay shed this time??? but that would mean she ovulated between the two sheds. you will have to wait and see if she lays in a month or so.

Most females don't ovulate until the spring time. Keep putting the male and females together and you should hopefully see ovulation in 4-5 months.

Good luck,
Corey

I've noticed sometimes a female will do that either after laying or if she's reabsorbed her follicles. I think it has to do with her hormones balanceing back out in her body and getting back on a regular schedule again. As always, if she is feeding she has not ovulated or is not pregnant. Good luck with her!

shes still not feeding, and still VERY nasty. think she may have reabsorbed follicles? that would suck. if thats the case, think I'll leave her til next year. (I have them on an early season, because summer and spring are very busy, so earlier babies are better for me) don't wanna stress her out. if shes decided not to have babies, I;ll take it as a hint to give her more time!
