I'm getting my first JCP!!!!!

brandon Aug 23, 2003 10:50 AM

Well, i took all the advice you guys gave me (wrote a report, lot's of begging, haha) and i'm finally getting my JCP!! he's being shipped next wednesday. I bought him from will leary--great guy, he's very informative and just cool to talk to about snakes.

I do have a one minor questions though...do baby JCPs like smooth or rough wood for climbing/perching?

also, what kind of substrate do you guys use?

Thanks a ton,

Brandon

You cant go wrong with an animal from Will. As far as smooth or ruff, it doesnt matter really, but I would prefer smooth just do to sanitation reasons and ease of cleaning. I keep my hatchlings in a rack with sterilite tubs and paper towels as substrate. The paper towels fit perfectly and after they out grow it I move them into more suitable housing. Many carpet pythons seem to enjoy and benefit from a nice secure housing situation while they are still small.
