what is the youngest age you could buy a sulcata?

do they have to be with thier mother for a certain amount of time?

i just got sullivan a couple of days ago and she is 8 weeks old.

how old was everybody elses tortoise when they got them?

They just should have absorbed their egg yolk (up to a weeek).
Reptiles don't usually hang around after laying eggs (exception:
alligators) and they generally are on their own after hatching.
I know the baby sea turtles here upon hatchling just take off
like maniacs for the ocean where they are on their own also
taking a big risk of getting eaten while heading about
50 miles offshore in just a few days.
Sulcatas are loners and are fine by themselves, never mix turtle
species with each other. As a matter of fact, my male sulcata
would aggressively charge and ram any other turtle probably killing
it at his size.
