is there any reason why my female coastal wont eat that u can think of?

she ate last september i believe around the 2 and then around the 25 i started cooling her for breeding there was some breeding but no eggs she came out of coolig in mid jan and hasnt eatin since its been almost a yr now since shes ate and im getting worried ive tried scenting ft live small large waited weeks in between and no results also she still does that coinling thing where when u touch her she goes crazy and coils up i hear its a breeding thing any suggestions what should i do?

Simon,
. I have kept Carpet Pythons for awhile and I used to breed them. I never saw any strange coiling behaviour from any of my Carpets. I do not think it has anything to do with breeding. Healthy Carpet Pythons can go a long time without eating but 11 months is too long. The fact that she has not eaten for 11 months and exhibits strange behaviour indicates the need for a visit to a good herp vet. You should keep her and the male that mated with her away from all of your other snakes.
