Update on new Whitethroats.

ChadLane Oct 29, 2007 10:28 PM

Here is their cage.

The one Whitethroat (V.a.a) has only grown around 2-3 inches, I think the other two get to the food fast, I'll have to pay more attetion to her. I have to keep her hydrated.
The other Whitethroat has grown 8 total inches!
The Blackthroat (V.a.m) has grown 4-5 inches. All this in one month!

First photo from a month ago.

Same bucket... just clean, A month later.

Cheers,
Chad

I'll bet your glad you didn't get out of the hobby when you hit your "road block" a few months ago.

Good looking "lil" guys, for now! LOL

Those cut ends on that chicken wire look kind of dangerous.
Good luck with them!

I believe that's plastic/rubber fencing, not metal.

The green stuff may be plastic, but that looks like chicken WIRE on Chads lid...near the fish tank light.
Dangerous. Take a closer look!

Mike is right, that stuff seen near the top of the fourth and fifth pic looks like it could put an eye out (monitor eye that is). Cheers

you should be offering plenty of food to go around, it really shouldn't run out, you can pretty much "free feed".

when you see rapid size differences like that, that usually means multiple males : )

Thanks everyone! I've not had a problem with the chicken wire for the two years I've had the cage. Many species have been kept in it.

Robyn: I believe I have two males, (the small Whitethroat looks female) I just simply have to make sure she's eating fine, and keeping hydrated... I'm going to be putting her in a different cage to "beef" her up, and keep a closer eye on her. Once she's doing fine, she will be put back with the male.

Cheers,
Chad
