My first frogs were d. azureus and they were a great beginner frog, not to difficult.
Hope this helps.

I would say leucs or tincs, but there are tons of good frogs for beginners.
Have fun!!!!

Blizzy,
I started with Costa Ricna auratus.People tell me they are shy frogs but they really aren't at all for me.Mine are out all the time. I think different morphs can be shy like my kahlua and cream auratus are but as they are maturing they don't hide nearly as long as when they were froglets. If you want a very cool frog that isn't scared of anything and is not too pricey I'd say P.Bicolors or P.Terribilis.I have 3 bicolors and they aren't very old, about 4 months, and I was just going to see today how close I could get to one with my hand and it was jumping very small hops sideways away from my hand like it didn't want to spook but didn't want me to touch it either. My hand was maybe 1" away from it,very cool.
