Long time.
I saw a tv show about some type of Lemur that bite at and pester a particular Millipede, it was redish...not black like the ones commonly for sale.
At any rate the poison the Lemurs were after acts like an insectiside, to keep them parasites in check.
The funny part was the Lemurs were getting intoxicated as well!
A "funky monkey" so to speak! LOL

The millipedes poison dyes my hands purple for days. I have gotten it in my mouth also and it made my tongue numb, that was after I washed my hands.

I once got a similar effect from the "water" inside a nepenthes pitcher plant. I dipped my finger in one of the pitchers and put it to my tongue to see what it tastes like. It made my tongue slightly numb...it kind of shocked me a bit (figuratively not literally). On the subject of millipedes I think Daniel Bennett mentioned in his book that the stomach contents of adult savannah monitors consisted of something like80 or 90% millipedes.
