Should I be concerned??

illbeyoursoldier Oct 30, 2007 09:45 AM

My little baby ball has shed cleanly always, even now she's completely shed... except for one eye cap. Not both. Just one. Should I be removing it for her?? I'm not sure how to deal eith their fragile eyes...

Normally the eye cap will come off with the next shed. If it doesn't you can remove it, buy using a piece of clear tape. Tape it to the eye cap and when you pull it off, it should come with it. I would soak your ball for a while before you do this. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't worry about it yet. Keep an eye on her and just wait for the next shed, when it will more than likely come off.

You can get it started easily (usually) with your fingernail in the edge of the eye- you can see much more white on the edges than the normal eye, just be very careful- I've got it perfected and have never damaged an eye doing this- I've seen them NOT come off with the next shed and stick, causing blindness- not good!

I use a wet cotton ball. Wet the cotton ball and gently rub it over the eye cap. This works for me.
