Herping In Utah

Bast Oct 30, 2007 01:16 PM

Hello All,

I am traveling to Salt Lake City, UT this weekend. I have been checking the weather there and it is (dissapointly) the same as here in southeastern Massachusetts. Isn't the southwest supposed to be warm? Anyway... Is there any chance of finding any herps basking in the last bits of warm autumn sun. I found 4 garter snakes this weekend in Massachusets!

Is it legal to collect (non-listed/common) species of lizards for personal use? I'm not sure that I would keep anything, but just in case.

Thank you for the information.

Brian

The South west is warm but Salt Lake isn't apart of the SW. That area always gets very cold early. You might have better luck in St. George but Salt Lake is kind of far north to find anything right now. I had a friend go up there last month to visit family and hoping to find a few herps, but it snowed the whole time.
