ive had spike for two weeks and i jus gave it its second swim time and he doesnt seem to do much but try to get out but he doesnt freak out. and i never see him drink so i figured it would drink in the tub and it didnt. does it take time for babies to get used to it? and how do i know if he's getting water?

It is uncommon for iguanas to drink water from a bath, water dish, etc. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't provide a water dish. If I recall correctly...Iguanas primarily get their water from their food and humidity. The humidity in your iguanas enclosure should be hovering right around 80%( mist daily in the morning to help keep humidity up). If you are concerned about your little iggy getting water I would suggest misting his/her food to make sure he/she gets water while eating. But regarding drinking in the bath while soaking...he probably will not drink...it is not common for them to "drink" water.
