They are even better in person. Pics first, then the story, then....

No kidding, cover the keyboards!!!!

Tim, you might want to use "additional protection"

They were a bit cold (typical for shipping) so I just got them out snapped a few pics and put them away.

Dang, they are soooo hot, and so amazing, really awesome in person. I do pick out the best in B-day gifts!!!!

Now for the story......

You all know about the 1.1 pair of hypos.....

But did you know........

there were additional babies in the litter? Non hypo siblings.

AND......

they have the same patterns!!!!!!

Litter was a total of 8 babies, 1.1 hypo and 1.5 normal. (sweet distribution)

You know what's coming........

but there's a big time twist........

Yup, I got em all!!!!!!!

I opened the box and there was a tub with the two hypos and another tub with a pile of normals. So I'm busy pulling them out, getting pics and putting them away. Not real active, if any thing curled up in little balls. I start with the hypos, you already saw those pics above, then moved on to the normals. After pulling the third baby, taking pics and putting it away. I look in the tub and there's only two left. What? looked at the rack, 5 total in there. The floor is totally clean and the lid was always on between babies so no way it could have slithered off. I tear apart the packaging to see if it coulda escaped, the lid was a little tweaked but nothing. CRAP!!!! Called Tom right away and he asked if they arrived OK and of course the answer was kinda but one was missing. Now he's sweating (could feel it through the phone) and had his assistant verify the tub they came from. lo and behold, one was still in there hiding in the mulch. PHEW!!!!! it's found. Now Tom is gonna have to send me another shipment later this week, Post B-day present?

The normals......

You'll definitely have to keep us posted on how those color up. Real nice spread of colors in there from light shades/hypo to bright colors to really dark toned.

Can't wait to see how they turn out and thanks again for sharing.

Great purchase! They are even better than the pics in the ad showed! If I remember correctly, they looked more brown/buff color
in the ad. Since I would have beaten you to them if I were able
to get some more snakes, I'm sure you wouldn't mind sending me one of the siblings.

I'm diggin' #5 for some reason but #7 has better color but I still find myself looking at #5 for extended periods of time, did you get pics of the proud parents and does Tom still have the parents or no?
Bob

rainbowsrus Oct 30, 2007 10:56 PM

Yeah, both of those two caught my eye also, #5 has this broken pattern camoflage look and #7 has the best "normal" color of the group. #7 is freshly shed, has some remnants still stuck on.

No pics of the parents and Tom C. does not have the parents.

Sheesh Dave, now I feel sick! Had I known that he had normal siblings to the "hypo" pair I would probably have a normal pair of my own! I'm sure that they weren't as much as the "hypos" were. GRRRR!!! I wish the guy would have told me he had normals when I was talking with him.

They are a GREAT looking bunch of kids.... looks promising to be a genetic morph having them all have the same aberrancy. I want a pair of "pearls" (is that what you are calling them?) when you have some available...... heck, I'd take a pair of those normals you picked up right now!!! You don't need them all do you?

Congrats.... and happy birthday!

Yeah, A lot cheaper and I didn't think about it until later. I had already struck a deal and paid for the pair. Then I called back and asked about the normals, he said he did have some with the same patterns and had me email him since he was not sure how many or what sexes he had. When I talke dwith him next I found out it was 1.5 normals, he did send a couple of pics:

We worked out a price and poof, I had them all. Sorry but I already have offers for some and keeping them all!

Thanks Aubrey.

WOW! What are those???????? Pearl? I'm new to the "Rainbow Forum" Those are hot, no cresents! What's the story?

rainbowsrus Nov 01, 2007 11:06 AM

Brand spanking new "look" "phase?" "morph?" not a lot known. This is one entire litter, two advertized as hypo. IMO the two are lighter but jury is out on hypo. All 8 have the same filled in side medalions. I saw them and bought the entire group.

Pearl is just a name I'm toying with ie string of pearls.

They were produced by Tom Davis, I know he's produced some wicked bullseyes since Jeff Clark has one. have not seen any pics of parents or spoken with Tom D. at all. The entire litter wqas purchased by another party, Tom Crutchfield of Herps Ltd. When he put one up for sale I talked with him and bought the entire litter. Still have one more coming, it kinda got missed at packing time.
