They do really well on CGD, and quite a few people here recommend feeding it exclusively (it's both inexpensive and good for them), though in my experience young ones like that *really* like their crickets and grow quickly when eating mostly crickets, so I'd probably either make both available or alternate feedings between the two, feeding every day at that age. Crickets need to be dusted with a vitamin/mineral supplement to complete their nutritional value, and must be gut loaded (feed the crickets) before being fed to your gecko. Gut loading the crickets makes them more nutritious, because any food in the crickets' stomachs gets passed on to the gecko.
If you're trying to get them to transition over to CGD from fruit baby food, the typical method is to mix CGD and baby food together and go with an increasing percentage of CGD at each feeding until it's pure CGD, no baby food. If you're trying to get them to eat CGD from a diet of only crickets, you can dust the crickets with CGD to get the gecko to associate that taste/smell with food.
Like any other reptile, when they reach adult size, they don't need to eat as often (I feed my adult every other or every third day).
