Won't eat

Wally26 May 22, 2003 12:49 PM

I bought a 4 year old corn snake 11 days ago. I fed him a mouse that day. I have since put it in a bigger aquarium, and he will not eat now. What should I do? Thank you for all the replys!

Moving him probably spooked him a little (especially since he was moved twice in a period of just 11 days). Just give him a couple more days and try again. Don't try everyday, give about 3 days inbetween attempts or you'll stress him out and he won't eat even more.

Try just leaving him alone for a couple days and let him get settled, no handling, no peeking, only bother him when you need to change the water, and then try feeding him after a couple days like that. A big snake like that can go months without food (unless of course he wasn't fed enough and was underweight).

Also, adult snakes eat alot less than younger ones. My 3 year old blizzard eats once every 10 days and she's still kinda chubby.
