Baxter and Alona : Should i be worred ?

JIM240 Aug 23, 2003 01:49 PM

We put them together, she's only 2 weeks old, she eats crickets (not as much as baxter), she's a little active but most of the time she's sleeping on basking rock, she looks skinny and scrony sometimes sick but then she snaps out of it, the last two poops where wet ?? could that be worms or something ??? does anybody have any ideas ?? here's a pic of Baxter and Alona Thanks - jim

Aquaflame lizards grow amazingly fast...I don't where you got the smaller female, but I would separate them if possible. The lizard does look a bit thin in the rear legs. If you can keep her in a smaller tank, then she can avoid any stress in the competition for food. Sometimes just the activity of the other voracious lizard in the tank can be enough to hinder the feeding of the other. They don't call me the lizard whisperer for nothing (ha, ha, ha)

I think you will have better luck if you separate them though.

because of size, but you are saying she sometimes looks sick, for awhile, and has running poop. Give her a bit more attention, as far as food and make sure she gets plenty to drink. She is small and thin and yeah I noticed she looked real tired in first pic. She will probably do fine by herself for a while. But you are seeing the difference between wild caught and Captive bred ! But it's the adult females who were wc, right? She will do fine alone, gives her a better chance to get food, easier than having to compete with Baxter! Good luck, Eve

I though (That means Johne told me.) f1 is wc, and everything lower means cb different generations. You know, like a captive bred f5 tornado...

F1 is the first generation after wc parents. F5 is a bad tornado from monogomous mesocyclonic thunderheads.

....indicated the first generation HYBRID offspring....or a heterozygous (unlikely to breed true) individual resulting from the cross of p1 (homozygous or true-breeding) parents of differing genotypes, regardless of the origins of the parents (w/c or c/b).

Say if you crossed a dickersonae male with a reticulatus female (both p1)....
You would first get a short-tailed reticulatus female! (ouch) but then her eggs would hatch into a (?) which in turn would produce (??) when bred.
Clear, eh?

its bad if the poops are wet????? cause all of my guys are... and they got white stuff around it too

eve Aug 23, 2003 04:23 PM

runny or really super smelly they should be treated for worms. But alittle wet is normal. And the white is normal also.
