SUPER PASTEL X HET PIED

MannyRottie Oct 31, 2007 01:12 PM

If I was to breed my female super pastel to my male 100% het piebald. Is there a possibility of a hatchling being super pastel piebald?

I'm no genetics expert, but I think what you can expect from that cross is regular Pastels, 50% het Pied.

No they will all be pastel 50% het for pied.Your het pied would have to be a pastel 100% het for you to produce a super pastel pied.

House is correct..........should be a SWEET snake

Wouldn't the super pastel female also have to be 100% het pied?

Yes, you're right ajpaulison. The super pastel female would also have to be het pied before you have a chance of getting pastel pieds. Cool looking morph to work toward.

....of producing Super Pastels or Pieds and you definately will not produce a Super Pastel Pied. You would need the Super Pastel to ALSO be het Pied AND the het Pied to also be a Pastel, and even then you would need some LUCK to get a Super Pastel Pied.
I do agree with Mike, it would be a waste of your breeder female Super Pastel with that male. You should go with any of the other basics male morphs like:

Pinstripe
Spider
Mojave
Lesser

you get the idea?
This would at least give a clutch with 1/2 Pastels and the other 1/2 Pastel Combos
