Fake plants? safe?

msaomaha Aug 23, 2003 02:04 PM

I was just wondering if it would be safe to use some fake plants/moss from hobby lobby, all of this would be stuck into some of that fake plant sytrofoam (thats the best name for it i could come up with). Would this be ok, or could it be dangeroud to my leo? I'm just trying to add a little color to the vivarium

i use plastic aquarium plants in my leo enclosures and there have been no problems. just rinse the plants off with hot water before putting them in the tank. i don't think you will even need the styrofoam if you can somehow jam the plants between the hides and the glass walls.

I use the fake plants from Hobby Lobby myself. I use suction cup hooks (for hanging christmas lights to windows) to hang the vines to the glass wall of the tank. It works very well.

Good luck!
