HELP-- muscle tremors

louis6 Aug 23, 2003 02:16 PM

I think I know what this is-- School started and I started to slack off and not give frankie his calcium for about 2 weeks. I know thats a long time and I feel real bad about it.

Ok, I was looking at him from outside his cage and his legs like started to move, oviously not voluntary. He didnt look like he was in pain but is this an early sign of MBD? I gave him alot of calcium yesterday and today.

Size: 14-15 inches
has a good body weight
enclosure: 20 gal. long with basking spot set to about 110.

I really think this is an early sign of MBD. I feel horrible...

I think you are right. Some real sun would do wonders too.
If the condition doesn't improve very soon, you might consider a calcium shot from your vet.
Should probably have him vet checked anyway...

Try a good pinch of Miner-All I directly in his mouth.
Let him get it down all the way, (he'll want a drink after that.)
And, he should be fine in the morning.

That'll be $50, please...

Seriously, if you use that supplement on every cricket feeding, you'll never have that problem.
Good luck!

Yes, this is calcium deficiency. Please take care of your beardie, or get him a new home if you're unable to do so. No animal should have to suffer becuase the owner is "slacking off".

I know, its just been these two weeks. I'm sorry I havent been giving his calcium for so long. I just started high school and have homework in every subject pretty much every night. I know this is no excuse. I take great care of my animals, I dont know why i just forgot about calcium...
