Hey all,
I don't post much in here, but I took some pics of my snakes today and managed to get one of my secretive little mandies without bothering it too much. I got a pair from Vivid approx. a year ago, but I ended up losing my labels... so for the moment, I don't know who's the gal and who's the guy! LOL!
Here So here is Jack... or Jill! ;p

This one gets nervous, but rarely nips at or musks me when handled for cleaning, the other thinks it's a rattler! Always rearing up at me, lunging and mock-rattling it's tail! LOL! Thinks it's scary, that little pencil of a snake!

Nice looking mandarin.

Most of them are pretty flighty. I only have one mandarin that is dog tame. He's a LTC who just doesn't get excited about anything. I figure he likes captive life so much better than where he came from that he doesn't want to seem ungrateful.

LOL! That's great! You know, I think my mandi's are pretty darn lucky to be with me, maybe your guy should tell my little cranky one to chill out! ;p I keep hoping it'll mellow with age... the other one seems to be getting better and better though. It actually escaped recently because its tub got pushed out by a large struggling snake my boyfriend thought he was giving me a hand with, and he never noticed it. How do you find a snake the size of a pencil, even if it does glow like a neon light?? Of course with my luck, it was also the nicer of the two of them that was potentially gone forever!
Three weeks later as I was moving, I was getting desperate. What would happen to it? Not only that, but it was not a cheap little guy and you need two snakes to make a pair! ;p Luckily, as we were scooting the frig around (that we weren't going to take) and had already checked twice, I saw a little head peaking out between the frame and another metal piece. With a lot of blowing, tapping, lifting and effort... the little guy came out enough for me to swiftly grab and remove him. No musking or biting through this event... I was shocked and pleased; and of course grateful to have found him. What a lucky break!
Well, that is my little story to go with the pic... maybe not as mild-mannered as your gentleman ;p but getting there!
