SAS Supply are in NY and I think they will deliver if you can't pick up.

Not to rain on your parade, but it's really not cost efficient to ship live rats, for lots of reasons.
It's against regulations in most common carriers, so it's gotta be done via airlines.
Some carriers require a vet signed travel certificate like a cat or dog.
The actual chew resistant, shipping containers aren't cheap, either.
Rats should have water and food (in case of delays) as well, and the package has to somehow contain the water and be able to dispense it to the rats.
It MAY be more cost efficient to ship a large number of very young rats, but it's better to just get them from a local pet store.
You're prolly gonna have hundreds of dollars invested in shipping a handful of small rats that will be stressed and traumatized.
Too many problems.

Well there is always a parade rainer.

If you want to get a good or special strain of rat like Sprague Dawley or Swiss Webster Mice, you are going to have to go to some time of labutory supply house. I have spoken to the people at Harlan Industries and they ship live rodents to schools and universities all over the US. They will sell you as few as a couple of rats and deliver them on one of their trucks. Yes it will cost more than Petsmart. But then Petsmart doesn't sell lab grade mice do they.
