i woudl say go with a fuzzy for the first feeding and see what size lump it leaves and go from there for the next feeding. my friends peru rainbow wich is abut the same size as yorus sounds is taking small mice. so i say do a fuzz first feeding and work off that next feeding you can always do 2 fuzzs or try the rat pink or something.

LOL, pinky mice are like popcorn to even a newborn BRB. Even my tiny twin eats fuzzies (at birth weighed 13 grams vs 30-32 grams for the non twin siblings). Her siblings are all eating hopper mice and pinky rats.

Yours should easily be on hopper mice, if it does not leave a noticable lump, then keep going larger.

Hopper mice are like the same size as rat pinks so cou ld i go with a rat pink? I use them for my 7 month old GTP but he seems thicker, but not as long. I dont know, this girl looks tinyish, ill try the smallest rat pink i have if i get more feedback. So fuzzies= too small? our petco doesnt know hat hoppersw are so lol...

i don't think any petco's know what hoppers are... i hate going to them unless i really have to and can't afford the drive to the reptile store here in town (it's like a 30 minute drive but i prefer to give my money to stores where the people know what they're talking about lol). your best bet might be to find a small shop that sells mainly reptiles in your area and get hoppers from there. from what i've heard pinky mice are nutritionally valueless (mostly water and not much else) not too sure about pinky rats though

carries hoppers or rat pinkies simply cuz they don't breed their own rodents. One mom and pop pet store around here breeds theirs but won't sell hoppers but I want the small rats so I guess I have to make my own but I guarantee that Petco has 60 mice and one is small enough for you

Theres a family place that has a nice reptile department and the best fish department in a mixed pet store. They have everything to small rats frozen, although the can take requests since they breed thiert own. THe problem is they only care some sizes at differnt timnes

Well, I raise my own so no teeth and they get fed live, just toss it in, once large enough to have teeth, whacked and wiggled in front of snake, I mostly just use my fingers except for agressive feeders.

I've got a little girl of my own. She is probably a few weeks ahead of yours. I made the mistake of feeding her pinkies at first. She ate two her first meal, and there was no noticable lump the next day. Moved up to a rat pink, which went over well, but disappeared fast. Next meal was a "small" mouse, just a bit above hopper stage. She got it down, but it left a lump for a week I swear they come preloaded with a garbage disposal. She got a smallish hopper last week and that too went away fast, so it looks like mine is now on small mice every 10-14 days.

rdude110 Nov 02, 2007 04:17 PM

Yah, im feeding one rat pink every 5 days i guess
