Way off the boa post subject butt.......

VolcomHerp Nov 02, 2007 08:54 PM

I could not believe my eye's when I saw a (BallXCarpet) python for sale on the python forum! I think it was listed as a carball not sure though. I'm not a huge fan of the hybrid stuff but very interesting to say at the least. I only thought there was carpondos, Bateater's, and superballs, to my knowledge. Has anyone heard of anything else???? I also have been told by a friend that a breeder in FL. has a huge Southern Barneck Female scrub python gravid from a yellow head Retics.. That might be the next longest snake hybrid!!! Crazy stuff wouldn't you say 8) Here's a boa picture to stay on the subject.
Take Care,
Jake

I've seen them too, Carpals I believe. I've seen them in the Python ads here in KS too. Pretty neat looking.
I believe in keeping things pure, but I love mutts too... I apply the same thinking to dogs ;p However, I don't always agree with hybridizing just to create animals to sell. I've seen a lot of snakes, boas, pythons, and dogs too... that it seems like people breed just because they have a male and female or put them together to save space and end up with babies.
Honestly, I think pure and hybrids still hold their own appealing qualities, even though it is such a big debate. l
Pretty neat though, I agree!

The things with dogs of course is that they're all the same subspecies, Canis lupus familiaris.

When people are forcing different species of snakes to breed, it's a whole different ball game in my view. I couldn't be more opposed to it, and I wince each time I hear of some new crazy hybrid.

Not sure, but I thought I'd seen one a few years ago.

What is a super ball? Is that what they're called?

You can do a search when in the ads for 'carpal' or 'carpall' and three ads pop up, two in Python, and one in Trades I think. However, I pulled a link for you when I got to one of them, just copy and past the top line! ;p
