If I was to keep a pair of Gerbils in a aquarium in the same room as where I keep my snakes, will the snakes sense the rodents? Will they act differently?

i use to breed rodents and kept them in the same room as my snakes. i never had any problems with my snakes other than they were ferocious eaters when it came time to feed them. Im not recomending that you keep them in the same room however, i only did it because that was the only place i could keep the rats at that time

i have alll my snakes and rodents in the same room, the biggest gal(7') is 2' from the nearest mouse cage, i think as long as you keep the smell in the room down it's fine, i've never had any strikes because of this, if it happens, i will change things around though.
