where do you live, what are the temps like? is it getting cold there? What kind of food has he stopped eating? how old is he? is he getting enough sun? has anything else changed? have you taken a stool sample to the vet?

where do you live, what are the temps like?- i live in southern california at the beach and the temps are around 80 in the day

is it getting cold there?- the nights are getting colder

What kind of food has he stopped eating?- today he wouldn't eat a small rat but ate a few worms and a grape but he always goes straight for the rats

how old is he? he is a little bit older then a year.

is he getting enough sun? yes he is getting plenty of sun

has anything else changed? nothing has changed

have you taken a stool sample to the vet? i have not taken a sample to his vet but it looks exactly the same as usual

tegus are highly attracted to movement. i don't suggest live rodents so what you can do if he is refusing live prey is offer his rodent while dragging it around on the ground so he has something to chase.. 80 is starting to get cooler especialy if the night temps are low.

I forgot to ask, how long has his appetite been decreased? how active is he? how long does he bask, what is the temp where he basks (use a temp gun)?
