Are my boas courting?...

Bergmantis Nov 04, 2007 03:51 PM

I put the male in friday night and this is about the most action I have seen. He was on her back riding around the cage when I first put them in but this is about it since that. Other times they are on opposite sides of the cage. I have not seen any spurring. Should I remove him and try again in a couple weeks or just keep them like that? My temps are 89 hot and 83 cool.

Thanks,

Mat

That looks more like sleeping....I migh try dropping the temps to 80°-85°. After a couple of weeks if you don't see any activity then separate and feed (at least your male...I don't feed my females durring breeding but some do) and reintroduce after digestion. You may also try an occasional misting to simulate the rainy season. Placing the shed skin of another male boa my also help by making the male feel more "competitive" for the female. Just some ideas....what you are looking for is the tails to be doing this....

and it is always great if you can confirm this.....

Good luck with them
