New pics and a question for all...

Tim21087 Nov 04, 2007 10:07 PM

Well neither of my girls wanted to hold still for pictures tonight. They both had their cages cleaned this afternoon and were still exploring when my girlfriend got back in town with her camera... man so i need to get my own. Well any way here are some of the few that actually turned out, I hope you enjoy them.

This was tempest before I got her out, still exploring her cage

So when I told my girlfriend that I wanted a snake for Christmas she said I have too many snakes already. That brings me to my question: Is it possible to have too many snakes?

Thank you,

Tim

Is it possible to have too many snakes?

Sure you can. When you have so many that the general care and maintenance changes from something you do as a matter of course, to a chore. This can and does lead to hobby burn-out.

I would agree with that. But as long as it is still enjoyable and you are able to maintain each snake like it should be I would say you are doing ok.

Serious answer to your question: Yes, if it crosses that fine line between hobby and obsession.

If you ever feel down about it, though, just remember you have 100% more snakes than I do.

Great pics, thanks for sharing. How old is your CRB? 6 months?

I say get a camera for Christmas!

Thanks,
Ed

Very nice snakes! And I'd say it will be too many snakes when you can no longer properly care for them all.

Thanks Aubrey. That also seems to be the consensus on when a person has too many snakes.

very nice jungle i bet she is gonna be the looker when she gets older. looks like she doesnt have a bad temper either. and as far as can 1 have to many snakes yes they can when it gets to the point of you not taking care of them the right way and putting off cage cleaning etc then you have to many

Tim21087 Nov 05, 2007 01:10 PM

Thanks. She has calmed down a lot and I haven't even seen her strike in the last two weeks

Agreed on the not keeping up on maintenance for the snakes though, that would be the point when one has too many.
