Im looking for a small point and shoot, not a big SLR cause i already get to use my dads d2x and stuffd. I need a camer that is small and takes about 6-8 megapeixels and can take some punishment. it also needs to be able to dovideos. I was thinking of the new sonies with built in 4 gigs but i would like some other suggestions.

My advice would be to go to a decent camera store and test them out. I would recommend getting one that has a sport type setting that does not have a delay between pushing the button and when the pic is taken - as there are still some out there that have a fairly significant delay.

i personaly have a sony cyber shot DSC w80 7.2 megapixels i would suggest checking some of them out they do great close ups good far away zoom shots lots of diff settings and options also it has a mode where you can hold the button and it will just keep snapping pics no it isnt as fast as some of the super nice SLR cams but it is decently fast without delay. also has for non snake pics a face finder lol a lil green box wil find the human face and follow it so it comes out good. its a very nice camera with lots of fun options and settings and really isnt to much at all
