The mites are gone!

LoKii Nov 05, 2007 11:03 AM

So I treated her for mites this weeken and ever since the treatmeant she has been out of the water bowl. Not constantly in it like she had before. So hopefully the mites are gone! Thanks for all the help!

What did you do?

That's good but remember to keep treating until the end of the mites lifecycle. I can't remember how long but I think it's two weeks, from egg to adult. Otherwise the eggs that hatch in the tank will just cause a whole new infestation.

I've found prevent-o-mite to be the safest and best mite cure

Yeah prevent a mite is the best to my knowledge.
Did you ever find actuale mites?

orchidspider Nov 06, 2007 09:08 AM

I usually suspect mites when I see puffy eyes. Mites love to get behind the snake's eyes and hang out. Often I have g e n t l y pushed the areas around the eyes and been able to push out a few mites. Also they love to hang out under the scales on the underside of the throat.
