Spider het clutch

SWREPTILE Nov 05, 2007 09:39 PM

This one was exciting for the beginning. The big question was what would be the odds. Five egg clutch from a Axanthic female to a spider male 100% het hypo. The spiders were 2.1 and the hets are 1.1

I wonder if it would be asking to much to hit on a true ghost in a couple of years?

The things have a different look to them. All my other spiders were a light golden color.

Thought I would share these little guys.

Thanks Jim

They definitely look interesting Jim...might have started something with all those different genes.

Currect me if I'm wrong, so all these babies would be 100% het for Anxanthic and 50% het for Ghost??? Is that right??

But if you wanted a ghost out of that clutch, you would have had to have bred a het ghost to another snake that has those genes/that is het for ghost as well, if ghost were what you really wanted.

They are pretty

Yeah i would say that if you breed one of those males to a ghost het axantic female you could get the true ghost spider very quick that would be neat to see. and the babies would be 100% het axantic and 50% het ghost. I would find the ones that are het ghost first then get the axantic het ghost in there so you arn't proven with hets. Sorry for the long post i just like the genetics and the odds

True ghost spiders. A honeybee is a hypo spider.
