There are some others out there, but we've had great success with Helix proportionals and recommend them highly.

I have the Herpstat ND and the Helix. They're both great, but personally I like some of the features on the Herpstat ND a little better. The biggest plus for the Herpstat is that it has an alarm in case the probe gets moved, which is a really good idea. I highly recommend the Herpstat
.
Hope this helps,

Spyder Robitics: Herpstat, Herpstat 2, or Herpstat Pro. The Herpstat has only one output, the 2 has 2 and the pro has 4. Therefore, you can have four different heating elements hooked up, with four different probes, with the pro. It also has lighting capabilities, so you could control your lighting with one output and control 3 different heating elements with the other 3 outputs. The reason you need so many outputs, is that each different size rack, will require its own output. Example, you have a 32qt rack for you sub adults and males, and a cb70 rack for you females. Each would require its own output. Each output, on the herpstat pro, is 400 watts. Each output, on the herpstat 2, is 700 watts. The single output, on the herpstat (1), is 500 watts. Make sure you don't go over this wattage. Each output also has resettable fuses on the pro and 2, so you would never need to replace them. The herpstat (1) fuse is not resettable, and is soldered in, so replacing is a pain. Herpstat 2 and pro also have a built in night drop. The Herpstat (1) does not. Hope this helps.
I was a HUGE supporter of Helix (I had 7 running for over 5 years) until about a month ago. I recently purchased a Herpstat, then two, now ALL of my Helix's are gone, adnthe Herpstats are in. I would recommend them 'till the end of time, they are infinitely more user friendly than all others. Smaller, easier to program, more accurate, higher wattage load, built in hight drop, the list goes on, oh yeah, and cheaper.
