More help needed with anorexic bloods

DylanB Nov 06, 2007 06:26 AM

Hello,

I posted a week or two ago about the hatchling red bloods that I have, which were not eating. As per everyone's advice, they are now separated in shoe-box cages (vented rubbermaid boxes) with bottom heat and nice hiding areas made from PVC sections.

However, two of them still will not eat. The largest has now gone more than a month without food. Someone advised offering fresh-killed or a combination of a F/T item with a small live item. I don't have access to small live mice, but I could try fresh killed adult mice. Any other thoughts on this? How about force-feeding? Thanks,

D

i have great luck pulling the tip of the nose off (live or f/t).when a drop of blood comes i put it in front of the snakes mouth so the tounge hits it or i put it right to the lips and it pulls(capalery action?sp?) into the mouth like water.this will not stress them so you can try it more often.lastly i would force feed a real sm meal.if they are not getting thin then you sould just give them time to come around.hope this helps
