Shooting blanks?

I have 5 females and a male, all mid-sized in a 55 gallon breeder's tank. The male is always up on the girls, shaking his tail like a rattle snake and wrestling around with them in an obvious attempt to make them fertile. He does this quite frequently, especially right after I clean their tank. This has been going on for about 5 weeks, and I see no trace of any females getting noticably larger or any indication that they may consider having eggs anytime soon. What's wrong? And is there anyway to stimulate my male and make him more of a potential breeding stud? Any help would be great, thanks.

well you can't increase the fertility of a male, and it already seems he is very eager so there is nothing you can do really. my female Beanie laid her first clutch a month after mating so if any of the girls are gravid, then you should have eggs soon (sometimes you can't tell they are until they lay, thats what happened with my female leo). if none of them lay, i suggest getting a new male, and after a proper quarantine period of a month or more, put him with the females. keep the other male as a pet or sell him as one, just make sure he goes to a good home.
*i'll keep your little leos in my prayers to the Lord and Lady (too bad it isn't beltane)*
Best of luck!!!
