Questions for morphers out there...

SNReptiles Aug 23, 2003 07:00 PM

What are some of the double recessive crosses people are looking most forward to seeing? What are some that you have thought about, but decided they wouldn't look good and why?

What are some of the double dom and co-dom crosses you're looking forward to seeing? Same question about what you don't think will look good and why?

And finally, what is the first triple cross you want to see?

Caramel albino genetic stripe............. drool!!!!
That's the one I want to make. I got a few years to go on this one, lol.

Pastel caramel albino.....should be sweet.

And the triple that I'd like to see..... Genetic stripe caramel glow. (G. stripe, caramel albino, hypo)

i am working on a super pastel pied. i have all the components
1.1 pastel and 1.4 pied. wish me luck.
what about albino mojaves could that happen?
or mojave pied? the combos are to numerous to think about.

What everyone must remeber is that when crossing a pied and any other morph that is pattern based [genetic stripe etc.} that with the pied morph all pattern uis lost near the white of the snake. It is best to go with not pattern genetic traits [albino, ghost, etc.] when crossing it with pied.

I don't think a combination of albino with either pastel or caramel albino would be worth doing. The result is likely to look just like albino. And adding pied to snow isn't likely to be an improvement, too.

I'd like to see a caramel albino, ghost, homozygous pastel to see how different it would look from albino.

I'd like to see a yellow ball python with a dark middorsal stripe from head to tail tip. Pastel, spider, genetic stripe might be a start.

I'm going to try to breed my 66% possible het caramel male to a 50% chance het albino girl this winter on the off chance that albino and caramel are mutant alleles of the same gene. I'm starting to wonder if my possible het caramel male practices an alternative life stile as I've not yet gotten any eggs from that 4 year old so I'm going to follow him up with a 50% chance double het for Jolliff snow. I'm not holding my breath on producing a caramel but it will be fun to see what hatches.
