Here we go again. Not trying to be an a$$ but maybe do a search next time. There has been MANY LONG threads about this subject and its usually fairly heated.

the market is definately being dominated by recessives and combinations (with the exceptions of the new flavors of the week). Combinations are not a bad place to start because even if they drop in price there will be more people with milk money than those with investment money. Worse case scenario you can hold back some future breeders too. The way i see it is dont invest more than you can afford to loose. Im sorry if thats not much help but thats my take on things. The market will be around a while but its not exactly a get rich fast thing anymore. It takes alot of time and patience to get a half way decent return. My opinion may not match up to others but we are all intitled to what we think. Dont get me wrong there is money to be made and some things will hold value but this market like any can really make you loose your hair. I try to breed what i like and would potentially enhance my breeding projects. Im in it for the long haul but we have to be realistic the market is both good and bad. To be honest i can settle with selling snakes for a grand that used to cost 10,000 if thats the market... imagine that lol

sorry if anything seemed off key, or mispelled anything ...maybe went a little off track (remember this is the internet)

I really love some of these Market Questions....

How much will morph X be next year....in 2yrs...in 4 yrs...

People complain that the market is soft....when prices are low.

Then when someone posts a Banana for $60 grand...they complain that the animal is overpriced and the sellers are crazy???

We can't have it both ways. Either you respect the asking price....and pay it. Or you give up the opportunity to work with the animal at that price... and wait till the price is lower. Then you get to compete with a multitude of other "less savvy" sellers.

Questions like these always come up. Questions about the future prices of this morph or that one.

It's like asking who is the best presidential candidate to vote for.... in an election that is 12yrs away.

Its like asking your trashman for a good stock tip.

Its like asking your plumber how to fix your laptop.

Its like asking a gynecologist....well anyway, you get the idea.

There are no simple answer for these questions.... & the people you are asking.... do no know the answers.

Sure there are people with a feeling about this or that morph.
But I wouldn't reccommed making a stock purchase based on your broker's feelings either....his kids may need braces.

The answers you get may reflect someone else's desires for a movement in the market. (up or down)
That's called a conflict of interest.

Feel free to ask these type of questions everyday if you want.
But it is likely better to ponder these questions silently in your own head.
The prices do not NEED to come down over time.
Prices should reflect the ammount of time/money & effort put into a project.

(The prices of standard AKC dogs don't drop every year.)

Stable prices will not only be appreciated by sellers.....but those new to keeping snakes will certainly feel more comfortable making more hefty purchases... if they see that the market is stable.

If Sellers do not place REAL VALUES on their projects.
....why should Buyers?
Just my opinion.
