I am trying to compile a list on which snakes will or will not allow you to keep eastern, western and/or southern hognose.
I know native snakes are restricted in Georgia so that means no easterns or southerns. Anybody know of others?? Any help would be greatly appreciated and keep me fropm hours and hours of research.

I believe in Tx now you may keep up to 6 for non-commercial activity. More than 6 requires a dealers permit through TPWD

Illegal to harass, kill, collect or possess in MA.

Sorry, that is for easterns, which are native.

I know Ohio and Illinois have restrictions on Easterns!

rosyboastore Nov 07, 2007 07:44 AM

Ohio only regulates easterns. Residents over 18 must have state ODNR permit. Permit entitles holder to wild catch and keep up to 4, with no limit on total kept or breeding. Must keep records.

In AZ you can keep as many non native hogs as you want. You have to have a license to collect native hogs and you can only have 4 in possesion at any time. Captive born babies from a native hog can be kept for one year.

i live in ny and easterns are not permitted to be kept because all native species are protected. believe me the authorities here dont know the difference between a ny eastern and any other.
