In the past, I've seen certain two-headed(polycephalic)snakes offered for several thousand dollars, depending on their popularity in the hobby.

But really, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, as these snakes are nothing more than a novel "conversation" piece to be displayed as an interesting anomaly.

Furthermore, these mutations, if they actually DO go full-term and hatch, don't seem to be passed on to make more of the same two-headed offspring, so certainly no money will be gained from that either.

That's not to say they aren't interesting though!

It also appears to have a kink or two, doesn't it?

DMong Nov 08, 2007 01:16 AM

It looks like ....."HE DO HAS A KRINK"" towards the last third of the body. Sort of being dragged a little.

Just kiddin' ya' a little about your spelling!

All in good fun!

It looks to me that at about the 27th white ring (counting from head to tail) there is a kink in the spine...
If it's not then I'm sorry..My eyes are not so good

I think you would have trouble selling that snake as anything more than a novelty. Not only does it have two heads, which usually results is a shortened life, but it also has some serious spinal kinking.

I think the only person that would be interested in such an animal would be a zoo or museum that wanted it to display as a curiousity.

I can't imagine anyone would even pay full pyro price for it, but the herp hobby is so money driven any more that some fool might pay more.

two headed snakes THAT ARE FEEDING have gone for between $10,000. and $20,000. dollars. Mostly sold to zoos that want a display animal. Take it to the Daytona Expo and you will get some offers.

That two headed snake is worth a whole lot to someone, thats my bet.

But from your comments, its not you, and its not me either. I have handle a number of two headed snakes and all by one were very confused. hahahahahahahaha

When I worked at Ross Allens(long time ago) someone brought in a perfect twoheaded pine and its had figured out how to crawl and exsist. It was caught as an adult. Cheers

That is fairly common even on normal snakes. It occurs when there is not enough calicum absorbed from the egg or the snake is handled(roughly) righ after hatching.

This types of snakes, "harden up" in the first week after hatching. During this time they can have problems if handled wrong. For instance popping them to young can do it. After about a week to ten days, you can see a complete difference in the snake.

Consider, they roll up in the egg, in a direction thats different then they normally bend. So they cannot be "hard boned" while in the egg.

They often grow out of these minor kinks. Good luck and I hope if thats a kink it will outgrow it.
