Hey all,
I was in the pet store the other day and seen this girl with the regular albino mice feeders. I bought it cause I thought it may be an African soft fur,is it? I'm sorry if this seems like a dumb question but I havent ever delt with the asf rats or mice for that matter until recently. Thanks,Rich
P.S her ears are bit up from fighting

I don't think it's an African soft furred.

Looks closer to a normal mouse than an ASF.

I agree looks close to a wild mouse or maybe a asf cross. Not sure but doesn't look like a asf.

Thanks for the reply. I think your right. The only thing that made me think it was an asf rat was the fact that its eyes are about twice the size of regular mice eyes with the same body size. But upon closer inspection I noticed that its tail is longer and skinnyer than the asf rats I've seen.I just moved it from protective custody back to general population.Rich

It looks kinda like a deer mouse.

If it was a girl, just look at her undercarrage.
A dozen nips means she is a MUS, 22-24 nips, and she's an ASF or MMM. Easier than taking a pic.

i bet its a wild caught at the shop and they decided to sell it rather than eliminate it. especially if its fast and can jump better than a commercial lab mouse...C
