digital scale.....where can I get one?

beclende Nov 07, 2007 04:17 PM

My collection is growing and I am finding that it would be very helpful to be able to take accurate weights of my snakes at home. Where can I get a decent digital scale that measures in grams? I have seen them online but I really don't want to pay shipping if it is something that I can get at a store. Thanks for any advice.

Try a Head shop where the sell pipes and tobacco. Dealers for certain illegal substances go to these places and buy there scales there so they can be dead on accurate and not rip themselves off. The head shop over here by me has about 20 different scales from $5 to $500....

Here's the link to the one I bought. They're reasonably priced, and it goes to 5000g in 1g increments. I think they have free shipping.

Hope this helps,

even better, why not check out the plethora of REPTILE folks that sell scales here on the classifieds?

support those that support you. check out LLLReptile.com, they have a fine selection.

I wholeheartedly agree with Robyn's suggestion to support reptile folks. That's probably your best bet, even if you do have to pay shipping or a slightly higher price.

If and only if that doesn't work, you could check out the kitchen department at Bed Bath & Beyond or some such similar evil box store. There are digital scales that measure grams or ounces with limits higher than 7,000 g.

I got mine from bed bath and beyond for 40 bucks
http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=13542210

I have only used it a few times so far so I cant really say much as far as reliability or anything.
It works for me

I agree, while you can get digitial scales elsewhere, I think supporting fellow Reptile Folk is the best option, and you can't beat The Bean Farm...
