Help identifying Turtle

GrenadeTragedy Nov 07, 2007 04:47 PM

I just received this turtle from a neighbor last week. I need help in identifying it and sex if possible. I have another box turtle in my yard but I could not find it to take pics. When I do locate it I will take pics because I want to know if I have a pair. Thank you for your help.

Paul

Hello,

I would say it is an Eastern or Eastern/Three toed mix and probably a male due to the colors and eyes??

Looks exactly like the male version of my three-toe; count the back claws and you could have an answer. I can't make out the number of bacl claws from the pic.

It has three toes.

It is a male Three-toed box turtle, and he appears to be pretty ancient from the looks of his shell.
