Whats up with that?

What's the deal with the people that maintain their website, but keep prices from several years ago?

I mean male Pastel $1,500, Spider 3k, etc...

Are these guys just lazy, but it cant be that cause the rest of the website is updated and current? Maybe they just cant let go of the glory days? Maybe they figure they can take advantage of some inexperienced buyer that doesnt know better and might actually pay 8k for a Pied?

Speaking for myself, as soon as I see retro prices I click off and dont go back.

I've often wondered the same thing...it is kind of annoying.

I always assumed that people with those old prices are bigger name breeders that think or actually can get those prices. But i agree it is crazy they update everything and overprice on some sites.

bro a breeder can put any price on a snake and nothing will be overpriced.

but seriously those guys are pros and are busy... pretty sure they dont have to be updating available list. they know that people that are truly interested will call in for availability or at least send an e-mail...updating sites is for window shoppers.

i think that is why some breeders dont bother with sites because they dont have the time to decade to it.

while others do a superb job at it.

Personally, I like to see updated prices and pics when I want a new snake. I don't have the time to call every "known" breeder and and talk for half an hour just to find out about a few animals.

I also don't want to call someone, find out they have the morphs I'm looking for and then have them email me pictures only to find out the animals are not what I am looking for.

I like to be able to see the python's pattern and coloration and decide from there whether or not I want to pursue a purchase. It saves everyone involved a lot of time. Taking a picture and posting a price is fairly easy to do once a person gets the hang of it.

This is also one of the reasons I don't bother with ads that don't have pictures. "Call for pics"? I don't think so... I don't know whose pics you are sending me. By posting the pics in the ad EVERYONE can see the animal and scams become that much harder to pull off.

The internet is supposed to save everyone time and it does when everyone utilizes it.

I agree...I would think a breeder would WANT you to window shop first. I would rather visit ten websites, (20 minutes at most), get an idea of who has what I want, and go from there. That way I am saving my time, and the time of the breeders who don't jave what I am looking for.
Just my opinion. It would be nice to see more updated sites though.

I think that if you are going to post pics and prices, make sure they are current. If you don't have the time, then just post pics with no price. Or just post a generic pic and say what your availability is for a certain morph. I would rather have a lack of information that incorrect information.
