Dear Ball Python People;
While We cannot confirm that the following concerns itself with Ball Pythons specically, We thought it refreshing to be able to post (as a change) a press item that illustrates an intelligent and reasoned approach to snake breeding by informed civic authorities.

The Jackson County Commission voted 4-1 this week to grant a home business license to a man who wants to breed pythons and the mice and rabbits pythons eat at his home on Timber Ridge Drive off Jefferson River Road.
Ronnie Dean, who lives on a 2.5-acre lot in his subdivision, plans to sell the snakes, rabbits and mice that he raises at home to pet stores, he told commissioners. Home offices are allowed under his neighborhood's zoning designation, but snake breeding isn't one of the home office occupations listed in the county's Unified Development Code, and Dean was required to seek special permission from the commission.
Commission Chairwoman Pat Bell expressed squeamishness about the potential for snakes to escape and voted against his home business license.
