Semi-successful post-shed photo shoot 1

natsamjosh Nov 08, 2007 07:13 PM

Well, I was finally able to get some decent pics of Jack after he stopped moving around so much. The down side was that I didn't realize that he stopped moving around for a reason. I didn't realize why until I heard the faint farting sound. Then he deposited a large present on my carpet! &$*#& I swear he did it just to tick me off.

Thanks,
Ed

LOL!!!!! I've had that happen with my rainbows, but thankfully not on carpet. I did have a rainbow pee my bed twice!! YUCK! Now big BRBs aren't allowed on the bed anymore.

Great pictures by the way.

Thanks, it was finally nice to get at least a few decent pics.

Yeah, that peeing on the bed doesn't sound good, I can understand you not allowing that anymore. I don't have that problem, because even if I didn't mind it, I'm sure my wife would. If that happened I'd be sleeping in the T10 with Jack.

Thanks,
Ed

Very good, I wish I had thought of that!! I actually took a picture of the number 2 to show Bob what he's missing, but I decided not to post it for obvious reasons.

oh crap I forgot to tell you that my pic was oldlol but the male should be shedding again in the next week or two and the female hopefully soon also but I feed the female almost twice as often though so she sheds a lot more frequent. I never really can get good pics of my male which is the one you saw but I have a couple of the female that are decent but none that I'm happy with my male and my camera doesn't even try to pick up all the colors so it is very frustrating for me

That'll teach you to put the snake on the carpet for pics!!

Nice batch of pics of Jack!!!

Ya want to know a trick? How to post multiple pics in one post?
With all the text you want in the middle!!!

I took the libery of copying your pic addresses. Then you add image tags shown below with added spaces so they won't work.

[i mg]http://gallery.kingsnake.com/data/132166IMG_1612.JPG[/i mg]

and again without the spaces so you can see the pic(s)

and since they are coded into text area you can put all the words you want between them.

Jack's sticking out his tongue and saying I got to crap on your carpet and I didn't even get into trouble or have to clean it up!!!!
Did I mention my cage doesn't stink either??

Well, I guess it could have been a whole lot worse. My wife wasn't home at the time of the "incident". But since the kids were, they now have leverage to blackmail me for some really expensive holiday presents.

Thanks for the tip on the images! I've been too lazy to figure it out. I've actually posted some with inline images (after examining the html source of one of your posts), but I had to do a couple weird things like put in extra spaces or space tags before the image(s) would show. Hopefully this isn't a dumb question, but why are the bad image tags necessary?

Thanks again,
Ed

>>Did I mention my cage doesn't stink either??

Unfortunately, it won't be long until it does stink, though. That's one of the negatives of an Indigo snake.

rainbowsrus Nov 08, 2007 10:40 PM

Well, I know just enough HTML to copy/paste html from photobucket so beyond that.....dunno.

The bad image tags I used in my post are just so you can get a sense of the actual tags and how they look bracketing the URL.

I was wondering if anyone else saw the transgression!!! Lucky kids.

I had a corn that would do that all the time. I swear he refused to poop in his cage and waited until someone picked him up to do it. I'm almost positive that he pooped on everyone that ever held him, and my bed. I made the same mistake of always letting him explore my bed, man was that dumb I ended up washing my sheets more times than I can remember because of that little guy.

Those are some great looking pics though. I like the contrast of his black on the white of your carpet.

Hmmm, maybe snakes are smarter than we realize. Your corn snake sounds like a real character. Did you get rid of him because of his crappy habit?

Thanks,
Ed

No if it were up to me he'd still be around. He was my girlfriends and when she moved into her apartment he got to go live with her. Then she decided she didn't want him anymore and instead of giving him back to me she gave him to her brother in Texas I miss the little poop and wish he was still around.

Ed,
...You need to get a Rainbow Boa so that you can make a good estimation of whether Indigos fed a diet of domestic rodents are messier than Rainbow Boas. When I kept Indigos they got some of everything to eat and were VERY messy.

Hey Jeff,

I'd love to get a Rainbow Boa, but it may take some time.

It's been a while since I had my BCI and BRB, but I have no
doubt now that they were less messy than Jack, at least regarding
frequency. I've cleaned the cage a whole lot in the 5 weeks that I've had him! I'd like to find someone with another Indigo (more of an apples-to-apples comparison) to compare notes with, because I still believe a diet of only farm-raised rats is way too high in fat for an Indigo.

Again, I'd love to get a RB at some point. Well, actually, I'd like to have several of the varieties/subspecies like you do! I'd love to compare/contrast them in person.

Thanks,
Ed
