Is this a Stimson's???

pturley Nov 08, 2007 11:55 PM

I got this as a female Spotted Python (Antaresia maculosus) however I suspect it may be something else.

Any ideas?

This is a couple shots of my male Spotted... he appears VERY different to me.

Can anyone confirm or refute my suspicions?

Both are Spotteds, with the Female being of Cape York lineage or a percentage thereof.

I agree with Eric, definitely not a Stimsons, but probably a Cape York or a normal spotted crossed with a CY. Very nice snake, though.

I had the same thoughts as Eric and Justin. She's got some nice blonde color and pattern, especially closer to her head.

A Cape York integrade it is then. Thank you everyone.

Now I am back to square one in trying to pair TWO snakes instead of just one...

Here is a real nice stimsons python yearling. They have the largest natural range of any python species and they have as many looks to go with the widespread range as well. Some do not look much diffrent than childrens other than head shape while other locals are very distinct looking. I think the snakes you have are spotted with some Cape york mixed in.

Thanks Ryan Young
