I'm not exactly sure what you mean by melamine cages. I have seen some commercially built cages covered with melamine. I am not sure what the base material was, probably MDF.

The box stores sell a particle board product with a melamine covering that could probably be used for cage building.

The best design I have seen for MDF cages is very cost effective and easy to build. He has designed them for GTP's, but you could alter the dimensions to suit your needs. It is found on Greg Maxwell's site here;

Fine GTP's

Those look great Bighurt. What are the dimensions?

TBone, he heats them with RHP's The lighting is inexpensive florescent fixture. I use an 18" model light from HD, they run under nine bucks and come with a std. bulb.

How do radient heat panels work and where does he istall them? Another idea i was wondering was putting pvc board or linolium with a heat pad under it?

Thanks, I have no idea, about 4'x2'x2'.

I use a custom RHP that I won't recommend. However typical RHP's simple bolt or screw to the ceiling of the cage. Most likely positioned over the hot end of the cage to provide typical gradient.

I use no Lights the room lighting is on a timer, I do this so I can cut back on the E bill and two so I don't have to provide hides.

These are my old cages the new cages will utilize Proheat panels by Pro Products. Bob is a great guy to deal with highly recommended. The new cages will also feature lighting......

Cheers
